Stand in the Gap
How often do we stand in the gap and fight for our faith? Or how many times do we stand behind the wall, almost silently squeaking out our praises to the Lord, and hope the enemy doesn’t see, attack, and bludgeon us?

In the Pits?
How many times have I told Jesus I will follow Him anywhere and then failed to obey in even the simplest ways? Yes, Lord, I will even go to Africa for you … What? You want me to walk across the room and share my story with that scary looking guy in the corner? Well … what about that Africa thing, Lord?

Is There Actually Power In Prayer?
I have a confession to make. Ready? I pray for my favorite sports teams. There, I admit it! I’m a sports fanatic, and sometimes I feel my teams need an extra boost. The league can ban steroids; but they can’t ban my prayers! However, my almost undefeated New England Patriots’ massive choke in this year’s Super Bowl is proof that God doesn’t always answer those prayers!
Confessions - Part 3
I could feel the blood rushing to my head. The whole room seemed to be swirling around me as I sat down in my seat, thoroughly humiliated, thoroughly embarrassed. “That Guy”
Nearly every class has one, and in this class Scott is “That Guy.” You know who I’m talking about. On this particular day Scott made the short-list.
Dry Tears
It’s not often that you hear of young people who are changing the world. If teens today are anything like I was, then most of them are only concerned with sleeping in and doing everything possible to not miss the next big social event.
Recently, I read an article about five guys from Acworth, Georgia, who don’t fit the mold mentioned above. No, they aren’t superheroes; they are life-changers.
Perfect Plastic People
Always looking for a way to lighten uncomfortable moments, I quickly joked, “They accept me, don’t they?” and chuckled nervously. Frowning a little, the woman looked straight in my eyes and challenged, “Yes, but you’re perfect.” I was stunned and shamed by her statement. I knew I wasn’t perfect; but apparently, I had become very good at putting on my perfect Sunday school face and appeared to have it all together.

Drawing Water
James worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and lived in a small place with three other men, all of them Muslims. He owned nothing. Every day his coworkers mocked him for his faith. At one point, a man offered James more money than he could make in a year if he would renounce Christ. James refused.
