One of my biggest pet peeves and struggles is patience. Even for the simplest things it’s hard for me to wait. But what happens when God tells me to wait on something? It may be something I don’t know anything about but He still wants me to be patient?
Towards the end of Paul’s life he was held captive in jail for two years before they killed him. It’s hard for me to imagine him sitting in a jail cell for two years waiting on what the Lord had for him next. He could’ve complained or even gone against God’s will and try to find a way out. Instead, he was obedient and patient till his death.
So when I’m in such a hurry for things to happen, I reflect back to Paul and what he did in his last years of his life. God may have something better in store and in waiting for that, He’ll honor and bless us. Now isn’t that worth waiting for?

When I first heard of the earthquake, I was devastated. I heard about the death, the anarchy, and the confusion. I felt like I was there in a sense. I have been to Haiti twice and I have many friends there. I could not imagine my friends losing their lives and losing their houses.
It is so hard to explain the poverty of Haiti before the earthquake. I cannot imagine what Haiti looks like now. From the voodoo to the unfair government, it sounds like a very dark place. But I know Haiti as a joyful peaceful place. I met many children who were always smiling. The children are happy to have shelter, clothes are on their back, and a meal a day. They live such a simple life. I wish I could live a life where I can be satisfied.
During the day of the earthquake I was trying to think of what I could do to help. I could only think to pray. I did a lot. I don’t know why the earthquake happened but I know my sovereign God knows why. By...

As my family and I were driving down the road Sunday morning, my Bible was in my lap and I quietly gazed out the window. I looked up and saw a billboard for Panera Bread. The picture showed three smoothies and next it was three simple words: Relax. Recharge. Indulge. Suddenly, the Bible in my lap felt like 100 pounds. A simple thought came to my mind. Why don’t we use what we have the luxury of having?
God’s Word is something that we have the privilege of learning from. For me, I HAVE to read from it everyday and the days that I’m too lazy to or just forget to, I feel emptiness. The Bible is something for us to relax, recharge, and indulge from. To relax, I like to read Proverbs 12:25. For recharging, I like to study 1 Corinthians 2:5. And for indulging, I like to go to Psalm 17:15.
Our opinions and advice from others is not always what God wants or has in mind for us. He covers just about every problem or situation we go...

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. The Shepherds and the Angels And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that...

When I was sitting in a service this summer at my church’s youth camp, God met me and He rocked my world. I was sitting in this service listening to the pastor talk about these kids in Haiti that live in horrible situations. They are faced every single day with: disease, starvation, abuse, and they have no one there to tell them they love them—no one there to make them feel special, to make them feel as if they are worth something. A story was told of a precious little girl whose face is still burned in my mind. She is eight years old and orphaned. It is her responsibility to take care of herself as well as her younger brother who is under the age of one.
This story pulled at my heart strings. I prayed that if God would show me a way to make a difference because I want to be His servant. I prayed that the Lord would show me a way, any way, to help these kids out. The Lord heard my prayers and He started a fire deep inside my heart to do...

This year, God has been teaching me a lot of things such as finding my strength and boldness in Christ, and how to be a true leader through serving others. But most of all this year, God has given me a strange and random passion for orphans in Africa. I decided a few months ago that I just wanted to take a trip there just because I wanted to.
But this summer at our church’s summer camp, God started revealing His plan for me.
On several occasions our camp’s speaker mentioned how many people in the world don’t have necessary things such as clean water and someone to love on them. He also mentioned how many kids don’t have anywhere to live and the only food that they have is found by digging through trash cans. And so I started thinking–there has to be SOMETHING that I can do.
I’ve always seen organizations where you just pay 30 bucks a month and support a child somewhere in the world. I’m not bashing them in any way at all, but I’ve always...

I have a passion that is not shared by too many people. This passion has changed my life in every perspective. This passion is Haiti. I have gone on a mission trip to Haiti, the last two summers. This year’s trip has taught me one important lesson: Be Bold.
This year, the team and I, had the privilege of spreading the Gospel to Haitians, hut by hut. This completely shocked me. I started to get a little nervous and started to worry about being refused. By the time we got to the village, I was shaking with nerves on the inside. Guess who got picked to go first? Yeah, me. I started to witness to the Haitian and I realized they weren’t my words, they were God’s words. I spoke the Truth and shared my reasons of why I trust in Him.
Even though the five people I witnessed to decided not to accept Jesus, I gained some confidence in my Lord. He provided in my time of need. I realized that I need to bring this confidence back home to my neighbors, my...
