I have a passion that is not shared by too many people. This passion has changed my life in every perspective. This passion is Haiti. I have gone on a mission trip to Haiti, the last two summers. This year’s trip has taught me one important lesson: Be Bold.
This year, the team and I, had the privilege of spreading the Gospel to Haitians, hut by hut. This completely shocked me. I started to get a little nervous and started to worry about being refused. By the time we got to the village, I was shaking with nerves on the inside. Guess who got picked to go first? Yeah, me. I started to witness to the Haitian and I realized they weren’t my words, they were God’s words. I spoke the Truth and shared my reasons of why I trust in Him.
Even though the five people I witnessed to decided not to accept Jesus, I gained some confidence in my Lord. He provided in my time of need. I realized that I need to bring this confidence back home to my neighbors, my friends, and my work. Recently I’ve been able to plant seeds in some friend’s lives.
After seeing God work through us, and seeing about 150 Haitians receive Christ, how can I not bring that boldness and message back home? I need to step up in my school and pour my life into my friends. I have lacked boldness in the past. This is the time when ALL of us come together and start a revolution.
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13
